Colin Powell Endorses Obama...and eloquently

When the Bush Administration froze Colin Powell out, it was the last piece of proof anyone needed that they were comfortable alienating the centrists in the Republican party in favour of a more polarized, pugilistic politics. Powell had been, for years, a voice of temperance and inclusion within a party that was lurching towards extreme neo-conservatism.

Some in the GOP will claim Powell's endorsement of Obama is pay-back for having been handled so disgracefully by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove and others. If it were, it would, frankly, be justified. I listen to the man, in the clip below, however, and hear zero vindictiveness.

I loved what Colin Powell had to say in this clip. Every single point he made was important and valid. It's appalling that we only want a Christian president. Why not an atheist? I'm sure I'll not live to see the day that happens.
